Title: A Vikings Journey
Reason for update: promotional advertisement from Morningside Records

The recent post looking at this Uruk Hai tape in some detail (1 September 2010) triggered a memory in Nazgul's mind that somewhere in the vastness of the Hugin collection was a press release to do with "A Vikings Journey" and - sure enough - there was!

Another small glossy piece of coloured paper - as always, designed to be a short-lived flyer to promote the album and then to be lost to the dustbin of time - containing the details of the now defunct Dragonsbreath website, and showing an illustration of the skeletal frame of a longboat at sunset. Very atmospheric!

The accompanying text reads as follows:

"Dark Heathen Folk Hymns: Mystic and bombastic battlesounds guide the listener through a merciless "Vikings Journey".

Fire and wind come from the sky, from the Gods of the sky. But your God is Crom, and he lives in the earth. Once giants lived in the earth, and in the darkness of chaos they fooled Crom, and took from him the enigma of steel. Crom was angered and the earth shook, and fire and wind struck down these giants, and threw their bodies onto the waters. But in their rage, the Gods forgot the secret of steel and left it on the battlefield. And we who found it are just men, not Gods, not giants, just men."
